FAQ
Why would I study Sociology?
Sociology is the study of society, social institutions, and social relationships, and specifically the systematic study of the development, structure, interaction, and collective behaviour of organized human groups. Sociologists use observational techniques, surveys and interviews, statistical analysis, controlled experiments, and other methods to study subjects such as the family, ethnic relations, schooling, transnational issues, gender, sexuality, social status and class, religious movements, deviance, the elderly, and social change.
Because it views society in a context of institutional relationships, Sociology is perfect preparation for graduate studies in Law, Public Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, Public Relations, Urban Planning, Regional Studies and a variety of other academic pursuits.
